Place chicken in bottom of crock pot
add chicken broth
Mushrooms and green beans
carrots and potatoes last

on high heat about 5 hours or all day on low setting.
The amount of each vegetable can be modified to suit the family.

Simple Baked Chicken
Skinless chicken breast or skinless thighs and legs.
Place chicken in the slow cooker. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper
Cover and cook approx. 5 hours on high or all day on low.
To add interest you can add spices or herbs such as garlic, curry, chili pepper rosemary or any other flavoring you enjoy cooking with. If you are unfamiliar with an herb start with a small amount. This type of long time cooking can accentuate flavor.

Chicken and rice
One whole chicken breast ( 2 halves) ..Boneless / skinless
Cut chicken into 1 inch cubes or you may leave them in larger pieces.
1 cup brown rice
2 cans chicken broth
1 1/2 cup hot water
1 tsp salt
1 small onion chopped
1 stalk celery chopped
1 carrot sliced
4-5 medium fresh button mushrooms sliced
place rice into pot add liquid and vegetables stir
place chicken in last. Do not mix.
Cook approx 5 hours on high or all day on low.
Serve with cranberry sauce, coleslaw or a green leafy salad.
Wash 2-3 small red potatoes per person
Wash and peal Carrots, at least one per person
cut in lenghts of 3 to 4 inches.
Fresh Mushrooms, rinse and trim one or two button mushrooms/ person
Green beans, fresh about 2 cups raw or 1 can drained.
1 clove garlic chopped
1 tsp parsley flakes
1 tsp salt
